The Golden Trees

2016-omf-prayer-drive-day5-kanagi-4-of-76Kanagi (金木) is the name of the town which means “golden trees”. As we were driving to Kanagi, we were accompanied by the amazing views of the rice fields and the golden colour of rices tells us that the harvest season is near. And it reminds us that the Lord is the Lord of the harvest. The gospel came to this town in 1950s through OMF missionaries, and the gospel has touched and transformed many lives.

2016-omf-prayer-drive-day5-kanagi-34-of-76Today, we listened to the testimony of God’s grace in the life of two ladies, one in her 60s and the other in her 70s whose husbands were also Christians but are now with Jesus in the glory.

2016-omf-prayer-drive-day5-kanagi-57-of-76Kanagi chapel was officially launched in 1994. Over the years, the number of the church attendants have declined. The church now faces a new era. The new missionary family has just arrived, and this is a great help to the church as it seeks to revive.

2016-omf-prayer-drive-day5-kanagi-53-of-76As the town is being saturated with the gospel, we hope and pray that Kanagi is filled with many lives being transformed.
Please pray for the revival of the church and the whole town. Pray that the Lord will send many more workers. May His Kingdom come and His will be done.

  1. Thank you for sharing. It’s very moving to see the picture of Mrs Kameyama testifying; a beloved sister in Christ. Please pass on our ‘yoroshiku’, to her and any others who remember us, especially Miss Tsushima. With our love and prayers. Graham & Helen Heath.
